修士論文発表会。研究室から４名が面接諮問に臨みました。２年間の課程での成長を、質疑応答を通して実感できたのではないでしょうか。20代の思考の成長速度は驚くべきものがあります。もうすぐ修了です。
Master's Thesis Presentation. Four students from our lab took part in the interview consultation, and I believe they were able to realize their growth over the two-year course through the question and answer session. The program will soon be completed.

数学セミナー「特集＝防災数学——防災を広く捉え，災いから未来を紡ぐ」に「地震動と免震構造／防災数学への期待」が掲載れました。数学雑誌への寄稿は初めて。2/9(金）発売です。
Earthquake Motions and Seismic Isolation Structures/Expectations for Mathematics for Disaster Prevention" has been published in Mathematics Seminar "Special Issue on Mathematics for Disaster Prevention: Taking a Broad View of Disaster Prevention and Weaving a Future out of Disasters". It is the first contribution to a mathematics journal, and will be published on Feb. 9 (Fri.).

日本免震構造協会の会誌『MENSHIN』に第16回日本地震工学シンポジウムの報告記事が掲載されました。協会創立３０周年を記念して、関東地震100年WG（主査：小林正人）を組織し、オーガナイズドセッションの企画・運営と技術展示を行いました。
A report on the 16th Japan Earthquake Engineering Symposium was published in MENSHIN, the journal of the Japan Society of Seismic Isolation (JSSI).In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of JSSI, the 100th Anniversary of the Kanto Earthquake Working Group (lead by Masato Kobayashi) was established to plan an organized session and technical exhibition.

卒業論文発表会。大学教員からの専門的な質疑に真摯に応答していました。４年間の集大成。悔しさも含めて、自身の成長を実感できたのではないでしょうか。
Graduation thesis presentation. This is the culmination of four years of study. We were able to realize our personal growth, including our frustrations.

戸田建設の技術研究所にて共同研究の実験を見学しました。筑波への移動に片道2時間以上かかりましたが、大規模な構造実験を間近に見る貴重な体験でした。
We observed joint research experiments at Toda Corporation's Technical Research Center. Although the trip to Tsukuba took more than two hours each way, it was a valuable experience to see large-scale structural experiments up close.

D3 井澤保一さんの博士論文説明会を開催。地震動入力レベルに対する免震構造の設計余裕度と冗長性に関する議論。日本を代表する免震構造の研究者・設計者らと活発な討論が行われました。
D3, Mr. Yasukazu Izawa's doctoral thesis presentation. Discussion on Safety margins and redundancy of seismic isolation structures concerning seismic input levels. Active discussions were held with leading Japanese researchers and designers of seismic isolation structures.

翻訳論文がJapan Architectural Reviewに掲載されました。免震構造の設計用地震荷重の計算式を簡略化するために、多様なダンパーに適用可能な等価免震係数の概念を構築しました。
A translated paper has been published in Japan Architectural Review. We built a concept of the equivalent isolation ratio which has applicability to various dampers to simplify a formula of seismic design load for seismically isolated structures.

TODA BUILDING｜研究室で現場見学を行いました。コアウォール免震構造と名付けられた大胆な構造システムが採用され、免震の特級グレードを実現しています。現場で見たコアウォールは迫力がありました。免震層には戸田建設と研究室で共同研究したトリガー（不感帯）機構付きオイルダンパーも導入されています。
The laboratory conducted a site visit. A bold structural system named CoreWall seismic isolation structure is used to achieve a special grade of seismic isolation. The core wall we saw on site was very powerful. Oil dampers with a trigger (dead zone) mechanism, jointly researched by Toda Corporation and our laboratory, are also installed in the seismic isolation layer.

JSCA アイス棒ブリッジコンテストにて、カテゴリーⅠの「コンセプト賞」を受賞しました！アイス棒を編み込んで作った面材ユニットでボックス断面を構成したユニークなブリッジを創造しました。
We received the "Concept Award" in Category I at the JSCA Ice Stick Bridge Contest! We created a unique bridge consisting of a box cross section with a surface unit made of woven ice sticks.

ゼミ活動の一環として、ブリヂストン横浜工場の見学会を開催しました。積層ゴムの製造・製品検査の工程を実際に見学し、免震技術を支えるメーカーの取り組みについて深く学ぶ貴重な機会となりました。
As part of seminar activities, a tour of Bridgestone's Yokohama Plant was held. The tour provided a valuable opportunity to observe the actual manufacturing and product inspection processes of laminated rubber and to learn in depth about the efforts of the manufacturer behind seismic isolation technology.

研究室OBの宇佐美孝典さんが日本免震構造協会の優秀修士論文賞を受賞しました。論文題名は「免震建物に作用する津波先端部の衝撃荷重と応答評価に関する研究」です。川上善嗣先生（広島工大）と水理模型実験に取り組みました。実験計画からデータ分析までよく頑張りました。
Mr. Takanori Usami, an alumnus of our laboratory, received the Excellent Master's Thesis Award from the Japan Society of Seismic Isolation. The title of his thesis is "A Study on Impact Load and Response Evaluation of Tsunami Tip Acting on Seismically Isolated Buildings. He worked on the hydraulic model experiment with Prof. Yoshitsugu Kawakami (Hiroshima Institute of Technology). We worked very hard on everything from experimental design to data analysis.
